This page includes several easy and well known pieces for the Piano. These are Piano Pieces for Level 1 or Beginner level.

We start with a small introduction to the piano. The student will learn where the notes are on the piano and how they are written in the treble clef and in the bass clef. It also introduces the student to the grand staff and the numbers of the fingers of both hands. The pieces in this page are famous classical pieces, popular music from several countries and pieces by the author.

What you will find on this page

This page includes:

  • Music Theory

  • Exercises and piano technical explanations

  • Pieces

  • Downloadable pdf, audio and video lessons.

First of all, you will start in level 1. In beginning piano lessons, a five-finger hand position is used in both hands. You can play all the pieces with the five fingers of both hands, without changing their position on the piano keyboard. For this reason, they are recommended to teach piano to small children. You will do exercises that will help you read music notes and rhythm and when you start reading notes faster, you will start jumping to other notes on the keyboard.

Develop your piano skills with piano level 2 and 3

When you reach level 2, you will play more difficult pieces and exercises with both hand and you will learn to play with chords.

The pieces are introduced by a diagram of the piano keyboard, with the notes that are played in the piece. The diagram also shows each hand separately and the number of the finger that plays the song.

The first pieces are played by the right hand. The left hand is introduced later and then you will start playing piano with both hands. This will enable you to practice the independence between both hands.

When you reach level 3, you will play more difficult pieces and exercises. You will learn more complex theory concepts about chords, key signature, time signature and more. As a result, you will play more exciting pieces and interesting exercises.  When you finish this level, you will be able to play several pieces on the keyboard and will read scores easily. For that reason, you will be more independent and will be able to learn how to play a piece that you enjoy by yourself.

Exercises

Play an exercise. Each piano lesson has exercises where you will be able to practice note reading, rhythm, the notes on the piano or other concepts regarding music theory or piano technique. Because each exercise is connected to a lesson, you will be able to practice what you learned in each lesson.

Audio

Listen to the songs. The mp3 files with the songs in the book can be downloaded or you can just listen to the recordings. You can choose the speed, slow, moderate or fast, so you can play along.

Video

Watch some pieces and exercises included in a video lesson that will teach you the theory for the lesson and/or how to play the song or exercise. These videos will help you learn to play the pieces, by watching your teacher’s hands on the piano keyboard.

The pieces in the book are famous classical pieces, popular music from several countries and pieces by the author. “]
